eshre-award.jpg At the 25th annual meeting of the ESHRE, which has been held from 28th June to 1st of July 2009 in Amsterdam, Dr. Fleitmann-Glende (Labotect GmbH) had the honour to hand over the ART Laboratory Award (sponsored by Labotect GmbH) to Mrs. Lierman of the department of Reproductive Medicine, University Hospital Ghent, Belgium.
The research group for Reproductive Medicine showed that the effect of artificial shrinkage of the blastocoele cavity, e.g. by mechanical pipetting, can improve the survival rate of vitrified expanded human blastocysts (D5 and D6). Furthermore it was verified that DMSO based media gives a better result for the survival rates.
The special ESHRE award committee, composed of senior scientists and clinicians, awarded Mrs. Silvie Lierman of the research group for Reproductive Medicine for the best oral communication.
The ART Laboratory Award (value 2000€) was presented in the closing ceremony of the ESHRE meeting.
