Labotect was one of the nominated companies in the group of small- and medium-sized companies of the Lower Saxony Foreign Trade Price 2020. The decision was announed by the 9-member jury at the end of September: Labotect is among the first three! We are very proud and honoured to be acknowledged by the Lower Saxony Minister of Economics, Labour, Transport and Digitalisation for our efforts in successfully bringing our high-quality products to every part of the globe and thus mastering the challenges of international trade. Exciting news about our bees

Apparently, we now have so many bees that our queen bee decided it was time for another hive. When doing their spring check-up, we found a new queen cell. We are glad that they’re all doing great and are already looking forward to the first honey this year.

We would like to inform you about the newest member in our product portfolio – the CellTrans⁺, a humidified CO₂ transport incubator for secure and mobile preservation of biological material and as back up in case of incubator or power outage. Specifications CellTrans⁺ The new CellTrans⁺(CT⁺) REF 16529 is a CO₂ incubator operating with humidity and allows full control over temperature and CO₂ regulation. The CT⁺ lets you set the required CO₂ and temperature values at any time. In addition, the built-in rechargeable battery has a runtime of up to ten hours*. To give you the opportunity to incubate your materials at an optimal humidity level, the CT⁺ has a humidification element to build up the humidity in the incubation chamber. The CellTrans⁺ can therefore not only be used as a transport incubator but also as a backup in case of incubator or power failure. (*Duration dependent on ambient temperature) The scope of supply includes an insert for 5 ml and 13 ml Falcon tubes, a car cable to maintain the temperature during a car trip even without battery power. In addition, the scope of supply also includes the DataVISUAL’19 software for acquisition and evaluation of the incubator values stored by the CellTrans⁺. Like our other incubators, the CT⁺ has very short recovery times for all adjustable parameters. The heating of the surface, bottom and lid of the incubation chamber ensures a homogeneous temperature distributions. Labotect celebrates its 40-year jubilee with long-time employee

Mrs. Kornelia Wüstefeld celebrates her 40th jubilee, other jubilarians honoured.

As part of our so-called "veteran's meal", some employees were honoured on Thursday, August 8^th 2019, as jubilarians.
Once a year, Labotect invites all employees who have been with us for 15 years and more to a veteran's meal. "In 2012, we thought that we should create a possibility for our long-standing employees to exchange views away from their everyday professional life. Since at that time the workforce was relatively young, we came up with the idea of the veteran’s meal starting from 15 years of service, "said Delia Schinkel-Fleitmann, owner of Labotect.

So on Thursday, Mrs. Kornelia Wüstefeld was honored for 40 years of service. This makes her the longest serving employee of the company. She began her professional life with an apprenticeship at Labotect and was subsequently taken on employment. She was honored in a small speech by Mrs. Schinkel-Fleitmann.

Further honors were given to Mrs. Susanne Hahn who was also taken on after training as an industrial clerk, she was honored for 20 years of service.

Earlier this year, Mrs. Anja Kunze celebrated 30 years of employment with Labotect.

Mr. Elmar Beykirch entered his well-earned retirement after more than 29 years in the company.

Inauguration of joinery - The team of BeLoTec is expanding

With the opening of its own carpentry workshop, BeLoTec has taken another step towards being able to overall equip laboratories. Together with management and employees of Labotect and BeLoTec, the resulting joinery team of BeLoTec celebrated the inauguration of the new workshop on the companies’ premises in June 2019. With food and drink, everyone had the chance to visit the almost finished production hall and familiarize themselves with the machines and tools used daily in a joinery. In addition to the traditional tasks of carpentry, the team will increasingly be able to accept orders for special laboratory furnishings. Thanks to the generously equipped workshop, they will be able to adhere to the principles of sustainability, durability and quality Labotect and BeLoTec already stand for.

New: CellTrans 2018

New transport incubator – Labotect CellTrans 2018 Labotect is pleased to announce the modernization of our transport incubator Cell-Trans 4016. The new transport incubator is characterized by an improved operating panel und new design. To facilitate the gassing of the interior, the CellTrans 2018 has an improved CO2 connection via quick coupling. The CellTrans 2018 can be powered by the normal mains supply or by car voltage and thus ensures that your cells will not cool down during transport. Since the CO2 concentration is factory aligned while using a heating block, it is necessary for safe transportation to use one of our matching heating blocks to guarantee the correct CO2 value during transportation. To allow for a quick operational readiness, the used heating block should be preheated in a big box incubator to considerably reduce the heating-up time of the CellTrans 2018. Please note that the old version of our transport incubator, the Cell-Trans 4016 (REF 13867), is not available anymore. Furthermore, the heating block REF 15212 (for microtiter plates) cannot be used with the new CellTrans, the new block for microtiter plates is REF 16961. Improved Gas In-Line Filter

The new Gas In-Line Filter with integrated connection for quick coupling Labotect would like to inform you that we improved our Gas In-Line-Filter to allow an even faster und easier installation. To simplify the replacement of the filter, we modified the connection – thanks to the newly integrated quick coupling body, the connection of the filter into your gas supply is now easier and less complicated. In doing so, neither the physical properties nor the filter characteristics of the Gas In-Line-Filter are affected by the modifications made. Please note that the old version of the Gas In-Line-Filter (REF 15238) is no longer available. You’ll find more information about the new Gas In-Line-Filters here.

Rescue dog unit of the German Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e.V. as guest at Labotect

Rescue dog unit of the German Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e.V. as guest at Labotect On November 17 and 18, 2018, eight rescue dog teams from all over Germany met the challenge of the demanding requirements of the theoretical and practical exam for the so-called "mantrailing". Labotect provided their premises and outdoor area as base camp for the hosting Rescue Dog Squad Southern Lower Saxony of the Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e.V. under the direction of Dr. Bettina König. Apart from usage of the main building for breaks, administrative activities and the performance of the theoretical exams, the outdoor facilities could be used as kennel as well as for the catering unit for meal preparation. Mantrailing is a special form of people search where dogs can track down a missing person by their individual smell. The dogs are able to trace the path of a missing person through odor particles and can thus increase the efficiency in finding them. For this test, the dogs were given a 24 hour old and 2.5 km long trail of a "missing person” in and around Göttingen to create a realistic exam situation. This exam is only passed by the best man-dog team who work together perfectly since the dogs may not be influenced by external factors like other dogs or pedestrians. Congratulations to all successful teams! The rescue dog squad of Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe e.V. works 365 days a year on a voluntary basis and relies on donations. In case of emergency, they are requested by the police to support the search for the missing person. Apart from mantrailers, they also train dogs for area and rubble search. Area search dogs can search up to 30,000 m2 of cleared areas and forests independently. Rubble search dogs are specifically trained to locate buried persons. New: Labotect Hot Plate A4 Labotect proudly presents the Hot Plate A4 with integrated control unit but yet very flat appearance (only 15 mm high), which is suitable for the save handling of carriers filled with valuable cells. The very easy to clean glass surface of the A4 is applicable for all kinds of detergents. The Hot Plate A4 also impresses with its light weight of only 1 kg and the very easy and intuitive to use menu. As all Labotect Hot Plates, the A4 needs only a short time to heat up (HP A4 < 10 min.) and has a homogeneous temperature distribution and an optimal heat transfer to heating blocks, culture dishes, object slides and anything else that is to be kept warm on a Hot Plate.
